Type of wooden flooring where planks are made of solid wood and milled from a single piece of timber. Solid flooring can be sanded over several times – correctly installed and well maintained solid flooring could last for hundreds of years. Colour of the timber begins to change after installation. Final apperance is attained after several years. Colour changes due to exposure to daylight, lighting and temperature. History of solid wooden flooring reaches back to medieval times. Even today there are floors in use which are older than 800 years.
